Triennale Milano is presenting Il Nostro Tempo CinéFondationCartier, an exhibition set to redefine the cinematic experience. This event, co-curated by Triennale Milano and Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, in collaboration with Fondazione Piccolo America-Cinema Troisi, offers a unique sensory journey that emphasizes the technical and aesthetic qualities of cinematic works.
The exhibition features a diverse array of films, created by twelve artists and directors from various backgrounds, ages, and experiences. Among the notable contributors are Gabriela Carneiro da Cunha and Eryk Rocha, Raymond Depardon and Claudine Nougaret, Paz Encina, Morzaniel Ɨramari, PARKing CHANce, Artavazd Pelechian, Andrei Ujica, Agnès Varda, Jonathan Vinel, and Wang Bing.
Il Nostro Tempo CinéFondationCartier is designed to break away from the traditional museum experience. The films are presented in a way that encourages visitors to interact with the works in an alternative manner. The exhibition space at Triennale Milano is transformed into a welcoming environment where the audience is invited to stay, engage, and return, thus fostering a deeper connection with the art of cinema.
In addition to the film screenings, the exhibition is accompanied by a series of retrospectives and discussions. These events aim to provide further insights into the works on display and the creative processes behind them. The show is open from December 12, 2024 to March 16, 2025.
